March 1, 2010 (MMD Newswire) -- This new and innovative website is at the forefront of the environmental and charitable movement. One Green Balloon has launched a truly unique North American based website www.onegreenballoon.com. This site is the only one of its kind to allow users to host any type of event or celebration (ranging from weddings to birthdays, and pool parties to bar mitzvahs) where all or part of the total gift (50% or more) is donated to a charity.
In lieu of a wrapped and packaged present, guests are asked to give a monetary gift online, thereby eliminating the waste associated with wrapping paper, packaging, conventional greeting cards, and driving to the store in search of a gift. By using this site, the host of the party can select a charity they wish to support, send invitations and receive RSVP's electronically, track their entire party, send thank you notes and receive well wishes from their guests.
The funds are pooled, and subsequently divided between the host of the party, who can then purchase one special, truly memorable gift instead of receiving many (possibly unnecessary) gifts and the selected charity (which will issue a tax receipt to the host). One Green Balloon charges a 15% administration fee for the use of its service. This fee is charged to the host of the event, and is based on the total funds collected prior to division and distribution.
One Green Balloon is affiliated with some of North America's most important charities including Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Jewish National Fund, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Breakfast for Learning, Kids Help Phone and many more, and will offer its services across the USA and Canada.

Thursday, 25 February 2010 11:30 |
Las Vegas, NV (MMD Newswire) February 24, 2010 -- Burning Bush has created a great alternative for those who aspire to become environmentally and economically guilt free in their approach to gifting. For those skeptics who have written off greeting cards as a waste producing loss of money, imagine being able to give two gifts in one. Both the card and envelope ensemble are plantable and will revisit its recipient with a blossoming reward season after season. No recycling bin or landfill needed, creating a renewed energy out of the traditional greeting card sentiment.
Burning Bush (www.burningbushinside.com) has created a ‘Blossoming Gift Experience' (card) series in honor of those who believe the essence of quality living begins within their connections to others. For the challenges that damper before strengthening, and the success realized in those defining moments of clarity. Burning Bush celebrates the emotions of life as an all inclusive experience. The original artwork and riveting message live on as a blossoming reminder season after season, reminding the receiver of the thoughts and feelings upon receiving the Burning Bush ‘Blossoming Gift Experience'. For holidays or any day - Inspirational messages and illustrations transcend all cultural, gender and age barriers in celebration of the truly unpredictable and spontaneous natures of life. Expressions range from poetic to conversational, to personally humorous.

"Our motto is ‘Don't be afraid to Grow'," explains VP Herb Edwards. "Simply plant the card and envelope, water and enjoy a blooming reward. Our eco-friendly products are made from recycled materials."
About Burning Bush:
It was The Elephant Man a 1980 drama film based on the story of Joseph Carey Merrick (a disfigured man tormented in a Victorian Freak Show), that gifted President, Tammi (then a disfigured young girl herself) a glimpse into her own humanity. The vulnerability and grace displayed by Merrick had left an undeniable impression that proved to be the encouragement Tammi would desperately need to survive the hand that life had dealt to her.
In 1991, Tammi achieved what she believed to be the impossible. The all grown up disfigured admirer of Merrick had given birth to a beautiful son, a celebratory moment that unveiled an unwavering truth. Our vulnerabilities should be honored not exploited. Her experience gave her the inspiration for Burning Bush.

Innovative Eco-Friendly Re-Use For Plastic Water Bottles Granted Patent |

Wednesday, 10 February 2010 11:30 |
Walnut Creek, CA (MMD Newswire) February 9, 2010 -- KleinCepts, Inc., developer of the Eco-Connect Bottle System TM, is pleased to announce that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a new patent, U.S. Patent No. 7,644,828, for its Bottle Container Coupling System. The new patent ensures broad protection to bottle suppliers or beverage marketers that license this innovative technology to create widespread re-use of their empty plastic containers - standard, lightweight, biodegradable or even new plant-based bottles.
Using the game-changing System, existing or new brands can make their ordinary plastic bottles interactive, eco-friendly and more sustainable, adding value for consumers and providing a competitive edge on the shelf. The patented system uses a connector that is molded into the bottle base - without affecting the bottle shape or brand identity - allowing empties to be stacked with the caps on or threaded together with the caps off.
The resulting secondary usage encourages safe and imaginative creative play and can reduce waste by keeping bottles out of landfills and supporting recycling awareness. Additionally, sheets of connected empties can fill a humanitarian need as low-cost building insulation in developing and re-building nations.
Optional connector pieces and accessories for the patented system - wheels, lights, stickers, themed kits, etc. - can provide additional profit centers for participating brands and their retailer customers; and add endless creative and promotional possibilities. They'll challenge kids' imaginations and allow branded empty bottles to live on as rolling or floating toys, soccer goals, tunnels, playhouses, licensed characters, and so on.

In the fast food environment, for example, beverage containers featuring this new technology could be included in children's meals in a ‘collect-‘em-all' movie tie-in. Empty bottles could be the bodies for various characters as kids screw the feet into the patented bottle base, and the head and arms onto the bottle neck; adding stickers to develop the characters even more.
The inventor of the Eco-Connect Bottle SystemTM, Steven Klein, is a retired educator and founder of the Learning Store Ltd, a chain of educational toy stores: "Each year, tens of billions of empty beverage bottles end up in landfills. Bottles featuring our patented technology are designed to take a different journey. They'll address consumer concerns about the environment and add value to the brand after it's consumed. Essentially, without increasing its retail cost, a brand can create a difference that will drive purchase loyalty and frequency. It can also generate lots of positive PR, for example, by sponsoring related events, like creative building contests that recycle all the entries.
"Today, when I look at the terrible devastation in Haiti, I think about how, in the future, donated water bottles featuring this technology could be put to a very efficient and cost-effective re-use as insulation in areas rebuilding from natural disasters...rather than just adding to the waste problem."
Chris Bragas, CEO of Eastwest Marketing Group, the branding and creative agency for the Eco-Connect Bottle SystemTM adds, "The patent is an exciting and important step in bringing an innovative and earth-friendly container to the beverage industry. We look forward to finding creative ways to help innovative beverage marketers reduce their carbon footprint and drive incremental transactions with their increasingly eco-conscious retail customers and consumers."
